Soccer Game Preview: Johnston vs. Prout

The Johnston Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Prout Crusaders at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Johnston is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Johnston's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Juanita Sanchez Complex with a sharp 4-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Johnston, who have now won four matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Darrell Acosta Sanchez and Jayden Corralos scored all four of Johnston's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Prout faced Burrillville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Crusaders fell 2-0 to the Broncos. Prout have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Prout's loss dropped their record down to 5-2-2. As for Johnston, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-1.

Johnston couldn't quite get it done against Prout in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 4-2. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
