Basketball Game Preview: Teays Valley Vikings vs. Canal Winchester Indians

The Teays Valley Vikings will head out to challenge the Canal Winchester Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Canal Winchester took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Teays Valley, who comes in off a win.

Teays Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Groveport-Madison for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-23 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Vikings have posted since December 29, 2023.

Meanwhile, Canal Winchester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Newark, falling 73-47. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while the Wildcats are ranked 65th).

Canal Winchester's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Teays Valley, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Teays Valley came up short against Canal Winchester when the teams last played back in February of 2021, falling 44-40. Can Teays Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
