Softball Recap: Viroqua Comes Up Short

Viroqua was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 13-7 to the Black River Falls Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-5 back in April.

Kate Quackenbush made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Reese Hooks was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Viroqua's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Black River Falls, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Viroqua will head out to challenge Aquinas at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Black River Falls, they will venture away from home to face off against Osceola at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chieftains have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.53 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
