Soccer Game Preview: Montgomery Central vs. Lexington Senior

The Montgomery Central Timberwolves will square off against the Lexington Senior Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Montgomery Central has 17 straight victories, Lexington Senior has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

While Montgomery Central's win against Ledford wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Timberwolves had just enough and edged out the Panthers 3-2 on Wednesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Montgomery Central's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Ledford are ranked 205th).

Jared Duran and Jaydence Eddins scored all three of Montgomery Central's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 39 goals.

Meanwhile, Lexington Senior came up short against T.W. Andrews on Thursday and fell 3-1.

Montgomery Central's victory bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Lexington Senior, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.

Everything went Montgomery Central's way against Lexington Senior in their previous matchup on October 2nd, as Montgomery Central made off with a 9-0 win. Do the Timberwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
