Martin is a perfect 7-0 against Grand Prairie since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Martin Warriors will head out to square off against the Grand Prairie Gophers at 6:00 p.m. Martin will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Martin took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 17-2 margin over Lamar. That looming 17-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grand Prairie). Everything went their way against Bowie on Wednesday as Grand Prairie made off with a 30-20 victory. Considering the Gophers have won six games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Stella Benitez-Mendez, who scored six runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Angela Amaya, who went 2-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one double.

Grand Prairie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.2.

Grand Prairie's record is now 7-9. As for Martin, they moved to 4-7-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Everything went Martin's way against Grand Prairie in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Martin made off with a 16-2 victory. Will Martin repeat their success, or does Grand Prairie have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
