Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Emerson's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Emerson never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Centennial Titans as they made off with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won nine matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Addison Hudnall made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Lauren Short was incredible, scoring four runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amilee Stapp, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Emerson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Emerson has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Centennial, they dropped their record down to 7-17 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Emerson will welcome Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redhawks have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Centennial, they will head out to face off against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans are facing the Coyotes at the right time seeing as the Coyotes are stuck on an 18-game losing streak.
