Football Recap: Kern Valley Broncs vs. Rosamond Roadrunners

Kern Valley had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-5 to make it five. They fell 30-21 to the Rosamond Roadrunners. The Broncs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Roadrunners apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Although Kern Valley took the loss, they still got scores from Carson Parks, Daniel Hinkey, and Aiden Madden.

As for Rosamond, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-5 California City and 3-5 Kern Valley.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rosamond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Robert Evans, who rushed for 226 yards and one score. Those 226 rushing yards gave Evans a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marvin Alvarado, who threw for 135 yards and three TDs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kern Valley will host California City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncs will be up against the Ravens' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.63 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Rosamond, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Boron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Evans and Andrew Gartica.
