Football Recap: South Eugene Takes a Loss

South Eugene and North Eugene faced off in a cross-town battle on Friday. The Axe took a blow against the Highlanders, falling 58-18. If the Axe were looking for revenge after losing 27-6 to the Highlanders when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why South Eugene lost, don't look at Henry Fausett. Despite the final result, he rushed for 68 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

South Eugene didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Felix Olietti and Gus Nelson.

South Eugene's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for North Eugene, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
