The Somerset Academy South Homestead Hurricanes have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 63-45 bruising from Palm Beach Central on Thursday.
Several Hurricanes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Liah Da Costa, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Justice Sheppard, who scored seven points along with six assists and six steals.
Somerset Academy South Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Palm Beach Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Somerset Academy South Homestead will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Mater Academy Bay at 3:30 p.m. on January 8th. Palm Beach Central and Wellington will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
