Soccer Game Preview: Largo vs. Mitchell

The Largo Packers will challenge the Mitchell Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Largo's offense. They came up short against East Lake on Friday, falling 8-0. The Packers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Mitchell managed to keep up with Sunlake until halftime last Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Mitchell lost 3-0 to Sunlake. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Seahawks are ranked 20th).

Largo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-2. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1.

Largo might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Mitchell in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. Can Largo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
