Basketball Recap: Little Falls Takes a Loss

If Little Falls was feeling good fresh off their 77-38 takedown of Adirondack last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Little Falls Mounties fell just short of the Clinton Comets by a score of 56-53 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mounties came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Comets are ranked 266th).

Little Falls' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 17-2. As for Clinton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Coming up, Little Falls will host Utica Academy of Science at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clinton, they will head out on the road to face off against Sauquoit Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
