Baseball Recap: Regents Finds Home Field Redemption Against United Christian Academy

There's no place like home for Regents, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the United Christian Academy Crusaders 17-6 on Friday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Luke Trivette made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Trivette was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, Joseph Porter and David Shonka did most of the damage at the plate: Porter went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Shonka scored four runs and stole six bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Shonka has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Paul Duval was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

The win got Regents back to even at 1-1.

Regents didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-0 victory against Faith Christian Academy on the 24th. As for United Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grace Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
