Baseball Game Preview: Alonso Ravens vs. Sumner Stingrays

The Alonso Ravens will head out on the road to take on the Sumner Stingrays at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alonso's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Sumner's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Alonso managed to slip by Strawberry Crest the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Alonso lost 6-0 to Strawberry Crest on Monday.

Meanwhile, Sumner didn't have quite enough to beat Lennard on Monday and fell 5-4. The Stingrays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sebastian Peralta was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Sumner now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Alonso, they dropped their record down to 9-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Alonso has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sumner struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Everything went Alonso's way against Sumner when the teams last played last Saturday, as Alonso made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alonso since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
