Basketball Recap: Marana Drops Season-High Score on Empire

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marana). They strolled past the Empire Ravens with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 82-64. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Several Ravens players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Khari Gurley, who posted ten points along with seven boards and six assists. What's more, Gurley also racked up six steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Donovan Davidson was another key player, putting up 16 points and five rebounds.

Marana's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.2 points. As for Empire, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Marana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-29 win against Alchesay on the 2nd. As for Empire, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-38 victory against Music Mountain on the 2nd.
