Volleyball Recap: Lehman Catholic Takes a Loss

If Lehman Catholic was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Northridge last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cavaliers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Botkins Trojans on Wednesday. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2018.

Lehman Catholic started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-14.

When it comes to explaining why Lehman Catholic lost, don't look at Lilly Graham. Despite the final result, she had 24 digs. Graham has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played. Olivia Sherry also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Botkins' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kambree Walters, who had 16 digs and five assists. That's the most assists Walters has posted since back in August. Madison Loy was another key player, getting 14 digs.

Lehman Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Botkins, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-12.

Lehman Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Botkins, they will be playing at home against Troy Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
