Dickson County came tearing into Friday's match with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-53 victory over the Northeast Eagles. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Eagles are ranked 363rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dickson County's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-4. As for Northeast, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.
