Softball Recap: White Castle Sets Scoring Season-High Against Broadmoor

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask White Castle). They were the clear victors by a 32-1 margin over the Broadmoor Buccaneers on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five contests by 14 runs or more so far this season.

White Castle let Jordyn Martin and Kelsie Bracken run wild. Martin went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Bracken got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those six RBI gave Martin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amari Zachary, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: White Castle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

White Castle's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 25.8 runs over those games. As for Broadmoor, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Looking ahead, White Castle will head out to take on Port Allen at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Broadmoor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
