Football Recap: Montgomery Academy Skates Past Lee-Scott Academy with Ease

Montgomery Academy extended their postseason success on Friday against Lee-Scott Academy. They blew past the Warriors 38-0. Considering the Eagles have won nine contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montgomery Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ali Nelson, who rushed for 100 yards and three TDs. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Nelson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reid McBride, who threw for 194 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Montgomery Academy proved: they limited Lee-Scott Academy to a paltry -1.3 yards per carry. While three picked up at least five total tackles, Nelson stood above the rest. He rushed for 100 yards and three scores. The dominant display was nothing new: Montgomery Academy has now limited their opponent to fewer and fewer yards per carry in three consecutive matchups.

Montgomery Academy's defense didn't let Max Hammer, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Braden Gordon was the leader with two.

Montgomery Academy's record now sits at 11-1. As for Lee-Scott Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Montgomery Academy will head out to square off against Bayside Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Admirals will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. Lee-Scott Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
