Basketball Recap: Forest Hill Find Success

Forest Hill was handed a 32-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Greenacres Christian Panthers, sneaking past 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted since January 7th.

Greenacres Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rahmello Makonnen, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 15 points. Makonnen is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 43% in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Giovanni Edwards was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

The win got Forest Hill back to even at 2-2. As for Greenacres Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Forest Hill will head out to take on Cardinal Newman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenacres Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Grandview Prep at 5:00 p.m. on December 1.
