A District 2 Top Player Performances of the Week

A Season-Best  Performance from  Gavin Shanahan Leads Elkhorn South over Burke
 On Thursday, Elkhorn South got the W thanks in part to  Gavin Shanahan playing the best football he has all season. Shanahan rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 16 yards and a touchdown.
 The  victory for Elkhorn South keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Shanahan will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant  effort when he faces off against Omaha Westside on Friday.

Devin Meier Delivers Best  Effort of Season
 Elkhorn South was led to victory by  Devin Meier, who turned in his biggest game of the season  on Thursday. Meier picked up  two  sacks and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss). He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 55 yards.
 This season,  Meier  has averaged 7.2 total tackles per game  and for the season has 4 sacks.

Norfolk's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to  Cohen Skiff
  Cohen Skiff helped snap Norfolk's three-game losing streak. Skiff turned in nothing short of a gem on Friday, picking up a receiving yards and a touchdown.
 The  win  got Norfolk back to even at 3-3. Skiff and Norfolk will face off against Burke at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.

Signor Posts Huge Game in  55-0  Win
 Keeping Skiff company is  Cole Signor, a fellow Norfolk player. He threw for 79 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
 On the year,  Signor  has thrown 13 touchdowns while averaging 199.2 passing yards per game. He's  made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year,  he was only averaging 29.5  passing yards per game.

Tye Mcdougal Makes Top Five
 Rounding off our Top Five is  Tye Mcdougal of Papillion-LaVista South. Mcdougal forced a fumble and made eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).
 Papillion-LaVista South's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. Mcdougal and Papillion-LaVista South will have a little extra prep time after the  defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Burke at 7:00  p.m.  on October 18th.
