Basketball Recap: Desert Comes Up Short

Desert played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 69-27 loss at the hands of the California City Ravens. The Scorpions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.

Avery 'Skywalker' Spears produced another solid performance dropping a double-double with 23 points and ten rebounds for California City. Spears' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Carlito 'Smooth' Brown, who posted eight points along with seven boards and three blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for Desert and nudges their season record down to 2-12. As for California City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Desert has already played their next contest (against Kern Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for California City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-16 victory against Frazier Mountain on the 3rd.
