Basketball Recap: Manzanola Comes Up Short

Manzanola lost against South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Manzanola Bobcats took a hard 57-39 fall against the South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Patriots. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Manzanola saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Danner Carroll almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for Carroll. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Holland, who posted five points and ten boards.

South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] had a senior duo take command as LJ Willis scored 21 points and Dallas Calzonetti put up 18 points. Those 18 points gave Calzonetti a new career-high.

Manzanola's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett], their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Manzanola didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-23 loss against Miami-Yoder on the 24th. South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] has also already played their next matchup (against Granada), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
