Football Recap: Cottonwood Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Cottonwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Hillcrest Huskies, falling 49-7. The Colts lost against the Huskies in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 24-7 score last time.

K'Von Houston was nothing short of spectacular for Hillcrest: he threw for 126 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 64 yards. Another player making a difference was Charlie Brown, who rushed for 72 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries.

Cottonwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hillcrest, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Cottonwood and Hillcrest will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Colts are set to square off against their familiar foe Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hillcrest will face off against rival Granger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
