Softball Recap: Lakeland Comes Up Short

Lakeland lost to Mid Valley back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chiefs lost 15-8 to the Spartans. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Abby Ross made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Mick Eremo was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Lakeland now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Mid Valley, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland will host Carbondale Area at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mid Valley, they will welcome West Scranton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Invaders have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
