Boiling Springs hasn't had much luck against Greencastle-Antrim recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bubblers will head out on the road to take on the Blue Devils at 4:15 p.m. Boiling Springs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Boiling Springs took a 15-run loss the last time they faced off against Northern York, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bubblers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Polar Bears on Monday, sneaking past 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bubblers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Delaney Lawyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tess Arnold was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Fry, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Greencastle-Antrim came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Rockets 13-3. Considering the Blue Devils have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Greencastle-Antrim also let their pitcher toss all six innings played and she was also dialed-in: Paiton Gordon gave up just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Meadow Gambacurta was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Kindal Rice also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Greencastle-Antrim kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Greencastle-Antrim's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Boiling Springs, their record is now 7-8.
Boiling Springs suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Greencastle-Antrim in their previous matchup on April 1st. Can the Bubblers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
