Preview: Maplesville Red Devils vs. Verbena Red Devils

Maplesville has been on the road for five straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Verbena Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Verbena took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Maplesville, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Maplesville didn't have too much trouble with Billingsley on the road as they won 53-38.

Maplesville found their leader in underclassman Nehemiah McCary, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCary has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Wilson, who scored six points along with three steals.

Meanwhile, Verbena's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 75-43 loss at the hands of Loachapoka. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Verbena in their matchups with Loachapoka: they've now lost four in a row.

Maplesville's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Verbena, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Everything went Maplesville's way against Verbena in their previous meeting on January 3rd as Maplesville made off with a 34-14 victory. Will Maplesville repeat their success, or does Verbena have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
