Basketball Game Preview: Ilwaco Fishermen vs. Forks Spartans

The Ilwaco Fishermen are taking a road trip to challenge the Forks Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Ilwaco took a blow against Toutle Lake, falling 73-44. While losing is never fun, the Fishermen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Ducks are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, Forks had to suffer through a 60-31 loss at the hands of Neah Bay. The Spartans have struggled against the Red Devils recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Forks' loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Ilwaco, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

Ilwaco ended up a good deal behind Forks in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, losing 66-49. Can Ilwaco avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
