Baseball Game Preview: Weslaco East Wildcats vs. Lopez Lobos

For the second straight game, Weslaco East will face off against Lopez. Weslaco East will face off against Lopez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Weslaco East 2.2, Lopez 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Lopez will be up against a hot Weslaco East team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Weslaco East walked away with a 4-1 victory over Lopez on Tuesday.

Eduardo Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Hernandez wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Antonio Solis, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Weslaco East's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Lopez, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3.
