Softball Recap: Fort Wayne South Side Comes Up Short

Fort Wayne South Side extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-7 in the process. They came up short against the Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints, falling 19-0. The Archers were not able to make up for their loss to the Saints from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's part, Izzy Tudor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave Tudor a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger got a big performance out of Brooklyn Baker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Maeve Miltner was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.
