Softball Recap: Highland Comes Up Short

Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 7-1 to the Triad Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 two weeks ago.

Highland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Leckrone, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double was Leckrone's first of the season.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Triad, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.

Coming up, Highland is taking a road trip to face off against Edwardsville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Triad, they will welcome Jersey at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 2.5, the Panthers 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
