Baseball Recap: East Providence Wins High-Profile Contest Against Moses Brown

East Providence faced Moses Brown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Townies' pitcher stepped up to hand the Quakers a 3-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 last Wednesday.

The result came thanks to Dylan Annicelli's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because East Providence is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Oliver Andrews was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

East Providence has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Moses Brown, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

East Providence didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against South Kingstown on the 27th. Moses Brown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
