Eastside has gone a perfect 4-0 against Honaker recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Spartans will take on the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Eastside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over Chilhowie.
Emma Sartin made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mallory Durham was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Ward, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Honaker's hitters rose to the challenge against an Eagles pitching crew that boasted an average of only 4.09 runs allowed on Monday. The Tigers blew past Rye Cove 11-1. Considering the Tigers have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Eastside, Honaker also got a great game from a two-way player: Gracie Shelton. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over six innings pitched. Shelton was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophie Campbell, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Jailey Yates was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Honaker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rye Cove only posted an OBP of .240.
Eastside's record now sits at 19-4. As for Honaker, their record is now 15-7.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Eastside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Honaker struggles in that department as they've averaged .340. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eastside was able to grind out a solid win over Honaker when the teams last played back in May of 2025, winning 4-0. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
