On Monday Thornton Academy's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Falmouth Navigators. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since May 16, 2024.

Ben Indorf looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cam Cyr, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Thornton Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Falmouth struck out nine times.

Thornton Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-0-1. As for Falmouth, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Thornton Academy will square off against rival Deering at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Falmouth is set to challenge their familiar foe Marshwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Navigators 1.3, the Hawks 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
