Baseball Game Preview: Mountain Empire Redhawks vs. Morse Tigers

The Mountain Empire Redhawks will head out on the road to take on the Morse Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Morse took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain Empire, who comes in off a win.

Mountain Empire is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since April 30, 2024 on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Rock Academy. The Redhawks haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Luis Cardoso made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Cardoso was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Cardoso wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Arnold, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Arnold a new career-high. Michael Nobel was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Morse was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 6-3 to San Dieguito Academy.

Miguel Aguigui made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Morse's loss dropped their record down to 1-8-1. As for Mountain Empire, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
