Baseball Recap: Webster Thomas Beats Hilton for Their Third Straight Win

Webster Thomas won the last time they faced Hilton and things went their way on Friday too. The Titans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cadets a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Max Seaver, who gave up just a hit to keep Hilton off the board. Seaver also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Webster Thomas is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, AJ LaLoggia was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Webster Thomas is 4-1 when LaLoggia posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Joe Baller was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

The victory (which was Webster Thomas' third in a row) raised their record to 7-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hilton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Webster Thomas wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-3 victory against Bishop McCort on the 6th. Hilton has also already played their next game (against Penfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
