Basketball Game Preview: Palmer Trinity Falcons vs. Miami Christian Victors

The Palmer Trinity Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Miami Christian Victors at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Palmer Trinity knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Miami Christian likes a good challenge.

On Friday, everything went Palmer Trinity's way against South Dade as Palmer Trinity made off with a 55-31 victory. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Miami Christian played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Sports Leadership & Management 74-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Victors have suffered since December 16, 2024.

Palmer Trinity will need focus on slowing down Maria De Gracia, one of several Miami Christian players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. De Gracia is becoming a predictor of Miami Christian's success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 6-3 (and 7-8 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Frida Acevedo De Luca, who posted 14 points.

Miami Christian dropped their record down to 13-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Palmer Trinity, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Palmer Trinity and Miami Christian were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but Palmer Trinity came up empty-handed after a 50-49 defeat. Can Palmer Trinity avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
