Basketball Recap: Winston Comes Up Short

Winston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 44-35 to the Hardin-Central Bulldogs. If the Red Birds were looking for revenge after losing 41-31 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hardin-Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ester Kincaid led the charge by putting up 16 points and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kincaid has scored at least a third of Hardin-Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Polk, who posted six points and 11 rebounds.

Winston's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Hardin-Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Winston will venture away from home to take on Tri-County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hardin-Central, they will welcome Orrick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
