Hardin Valley Academy is 8-2 against West since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Hawks will welcome the Rebels at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Hardin Valley Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Bearden with a sharp 16-5 win on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Elsie Hatcher was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Souders, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kayla Sosebee was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Hardin Valley Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, West came into Monday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over Seymour on Monday. That looming 15-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rebels yet this season.
Like Hardin Valley Academy, West also got a great game from a two-way player: Brooke Weaver. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Those hits were Weaver's first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, West got a massive performance out of Kayln Stirone, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those stolen bases marked the first that Stirone snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Claire Davenport, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.
West's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Hardin Valley Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-16.
