Volleyball Recap: Addyson Matthews and Megan Butler Secure Win for Emmanuel Christian

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Emmanuel Christian had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Orangeburg Christian Academy Patriots 3-0. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Emmanuel Christian took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-11.

Leading Emmanuel Christian to victory were Megan Butler and Addyson Matthews. Butler had nine digs and four aces, while Matthews hit 60% for six kills and 29 digs and six aces. What's more, Matthews racked up 18 assists, the most she's had since back in August.

Emmanuel Christian's victory bumped their record up to 14-3-1. As for Orangeburg Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Emmanuel Christian is taking a road trip to challenge Community Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Orangeburg Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
