Volleyball Recap: West Johnston Comes Up Short

West Johnston lost against Corinth Holders on Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Pirates. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

While West Johnston ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 27-29, 25-19.

Kylee McArtan paced West Johnston's offense, picking up eight kills. McArtan got some help from Jadelyn McNutt and her nine assists. McNutt also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Brenna McArtan, racking up three apiece.

This is the second loss in a row for West Johnston and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Corinth Holders, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Looking ahead, West Johnston will face off against Union Pines at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Corinth Holders, they will square off against Bunn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
