Baseball Recap: Carle Place Victorious

While Carle Place's win against East Rockaway wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Frogs skirted past the Rocks 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Frogs in their matchups with the Rocks: they've now won three in a row.

Philip Bunt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Patrick McCarthy was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Carle Place hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Carle Place's record now sits at 13-5. As for East Rockaway, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Carle Place will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rocks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
