Westville hasn't had much luck against Hebron recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Blackhawks will take on the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westville has five straight wins, Hebron has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Westville barely beat Washington Township the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blackhawks put the hurt on the Senators with a sharp 12-4 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Blackhawks, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kierstin Vargas made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Westville got a massive performance out of Lily Green, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Green has posted since back in April of 2024. Miranda Sparks was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Hebron suffered their closest defeat since June 3, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of La Porte by a score of 4-2.
Savanna Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.
At the plate, Mariyah Flores made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Donovan, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Westville pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Hebron, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
Hebron's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. It's a different story for Hebron, though, as they've only averaged .351. Will they be able to contain Westville's hitters?
Westville might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Hebron in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Blackhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
