Preview: Lewisville Farmers vs. Hebron Hawks
The Lewisville Farmers will head out on the road to face off against the Hebron Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lewisville is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Lewisville stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on Plano East with a sharp 26-3 victory. Lewisville's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
It was another big night for Viron Ellison, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Ellison was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Sean Oliver made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Plano East to a paltry 218 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Lewisville's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was O'marius Dimry-lockhart and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Hebron's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Plano West by a score of 41-28. The win was just what Hebron needed coming off of a 49-0 defeat in their prior game.
Patrick Crayton Jr was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayson McCray Jones, who rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Lewisville's victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.1 points per game. As for Hebron, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Lewisville strolled past Hebron in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a score of 31-17. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lewisville since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
