Softball Recap: Wednesday's Defeat Ends St. Thomas Aquinas' Winning Streak

It was a good run, but St. Thomas Aquinas unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the French Settlement Lions, falling 11-1. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Ryleigh Fugarino was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

St. Thomas Aquinas now has a losing record of 8-9. As for French Settlement, they pushed their record up to 4-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, St. Thomas Aquinas will take on Lakeshore at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for French Settlement, they will welcome Northlake Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northlake Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something French Settlement will no doubt try to take advantage of.
