Baseball Recap: St. Marys Takes a Loss

St. Marys scored first but ultimately less than DuBois in their game on Monday. They fell just short of the Beavers by a score of 6-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Beavers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 back in March.

Ben Reynolds was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

St. Marys' defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for DuBois, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Marys will take on Bradford at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Owls' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Flying Dutch's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for DuBois, they will square off against Punxsutawney at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
