It was a good run, but Southwest unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Monday. They fell 3-1 to the Cambridge Trojans. The Roughriders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 2-1.
Southwest couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Cambridge a tough time in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 31-29, 20-25, 25-19.
Kyra Nelms paced Southwest's offense, picking up 33 kills. Nelms got some help from Aspen Billeter and her 45 assists.
Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 24-5. As for Cambridge, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-7.
As of now, neither Southwest nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
