Basketball Recap: Tri-Valley Takes a Loss

Tri-Valley and Marian Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Tri-Valley had to settle for second. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marian Catholic. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Marian Catholic earlier this season, when they won 71-59.

Marian Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rocco Griguoli out in front who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Griguoli's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Gregory Tirpak was another key player, shooting 67% from beyond the arc to rack up 20 points.

Tri-Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season. The victory (which was Marian Catholic's fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-11.

As of now, neither Tri-Valley nor Marian Catholic have any future games scheduled.
