Softball Recap: Cranford Comes Up Short

Cranford fell victim to Columbia and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of Columbia by a score of 1-0. Cranford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Columbia apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Cranford moved to 8-10 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Columbia, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Cranford will venture away from home to challenge Governor Livingston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Columbia, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-0 win against Montclair Kimberley Academy on the 3rd.
