Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Katy walked away with it. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-7 win over the Memorial Mustangs. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Tremayne Hill was his usual excellent self, rushing for 169 yards and three scores while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last 11 games he's played. Tony Manuel was another major influence, as he rushed for 68 yards and ran in a TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Katy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 290 rushing yards in 11 consecutive games.

Katy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut David Oluto-Judah.

Katy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games. As for Memorial, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.

Coming up, Katy will host Summer Creek at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,026 yards in their previous games. Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
