Softball Recap: Bloomsburg Comes Up Short

Bloomsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They came up short against the Southern Columbia Area Tigers, falling 18-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 back in April.

Kara Bodganowicz stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Reese Klinger, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Bloomsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Southern Columbia Area, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomsburg will take on Our Lady of Lourdes Regional at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.37 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Southern Columbia Area, they will challenge Muncy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
